FAQs
What does the first session look like?
The first session is a starting point. It’s a space for us to get to know one another, explore what’s bringing you in, and begin outlining what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, your goals, and how things have been feeling lately—while also giving you the space to speak freely and at your own pace. It’s also a time to ask questions and get a feel for whether this process feels right for you.
How long does therapy usually last?
My counseling approach is typically short to medium-term. Many clients work with me for about 4 to 6 months, and most cases are complete within 6 to 9 months. I believe therapy should be focused, effective, and lead to momentum. After the initial phase of weekly sessions, we often taper to biweekly, then monthly, moving into maintenance mode as needed. Some clients continue checking in over time, especially during life transitions or moments of reflection.
How often do we meet?
At the beginning, I recommend weekly sessions to help us build trust and generate early momentum. Therapy is most effective when it’s consistent, especially in the early stages. As we begin to see change, we often move to every other week or even less frequently, depending on your goals and what feels most supportive.
When will I start to notice a difference?
Hopefully within the first handful of sessions, you’ll begin to notice a difference. Sometimes just having a space to talk openly—without judgment—can bring a sense of peace, clarity, and relief. I strive to offer something tangible in every session, whether it’s a new insight, a practical tool, or a shift in perspective—something you can take with you and apply throughout the week. These small changes often begin to add up, creating momentum toward the larger shifts you’re hoping to make.
How will I know if therapy is working?
Therapy is working when you begin to feel more like yourself—or perhaps more like the version of yourself you’ve been wanting to become. You may notice increased self-awareness, improved relationships, or more calm and clarity in your daily life. We’ll also pause periodically to reflect on your progress, recalibrate goals, and make sure our work is aligned with what you need most.
What are your rates?
60-minute session: $240
45-minute session: $215
30-minute session: $165
Some clients prefer longer sessions for deeper exploration, while others opt for shorter, more focused work. I’m happy to discuss what format may work best for your needs.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Yes—I work with clients both online and in person. Some people prefer the convenience of telehealth, others appreciate the grounding of in-person work, and many choose a hybrid model. I’ve found that both formats can be equally effective, and I’ll work with you to find what feels most comfortable and sustainable.
What makes the therapy relationship unique?
The therapeutic relationship is unlike any other. It can feel as personal and connected as some of your closest relationships, but what sets it apart is that it’s 100% about you. It’s confidential, intentional, and designed to give you a space that’s completely focused on your inner world. My hope is that this becomes a space where you can let your guard down, be fully yourself, and engage in deep reflection without judgment or pressure.
